Specialized Headquarters Prague

The main task assigned by the investor was a transformation of the many times improperly rebuilt historical object into a representative headquarters of an international company. Thus the required program demands an extension of the original volume with a new object in the size of one whole floor. In terms of preserving the existing structures, we propose a new two-storey building situated to the southeastern facade. We remove only the existing pitched roof and therefore decrease the object by one floor. As a result we get a smooth connection between these two natural parks mentioned above. The proposed flat roof offers and extensive usage of roof terrace accessible directly from the adjacent terrain. Because of the insufficient building characteristics (no waterproofing against soil moisture) and unsuitable spatial qualities on the ground floor, the other possible solution is a demolition of the whole existing structure. Our proposal also counts with this option.
