In Prague’s Old Town you can get pizza, sushi, poke and many other kinds of exotic food in even more exotic restaurants and bistros, but is it possible to get food as our grandmas used to cook? Nowadays it is truly possible in bistro MONK, right next to the Old Town Square. Sadly, in the globalized world the local peculiarities often blend into one and it almost seems as if everything is pretty much the same. The bistro MONK stands against the phenomenon of “the globally universal interior” with its respect to the origin and history of the space, use of natural materials and careful non-invasive presentation on the side from the street. Since the bistro is set up inside a former monastery, the walls inside are decorated with scenes of its former inhabitants.
