Bistro at Prague City Hall

Prague City Hall decided to undergo a modernisation of its bistro inside one of its buildings on Mariánské square. The original bistro, which has been in service for decades, was rather outdated in comparison to contemporary bistros and coffee shops. The Prague City Hall made us an offer to participate in a tender with our design, with which we later on succeeded. The light and spacious interior reflect the context of this significant historical building. All used materials are natural with the emphasis on traditional building technologies. A subtle geometric ornament outlines the seating and the serving niches in the newly inserted volume, which contains the service area of the bistro. The outlining refers to the craftsmanship and the complex design of interiors used in the public interiors of the buildings in the style of art nouveau.
