House in Mníšek pod Brdy

realization 2013
In which way should one deal with a height difference between the level of the street and the level of the plot, when strict regulations requiring a gabled roof must be met? How to design a small house while maximizing its connection with the garden? The clients wished for a small house with a big garden in Mníšek pod Brdy. We designed a two-storey house situated on the north part of the plot, where the most of the living space is represented by the ground floor, which is in direct contact with the terrace and the rest of the greenery. The terrace is overlooked by the roof overhang, which casts a shadow on the most part of the south garden. Upstairs in a small gable house, there is an entrance hall and a guest room facing south. Huge linden tree by the creek in the south part of the plot is the dominant of the whole garden.
